Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 10 amβ8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach The Spice & Tea Exchange of Pittsburgh at (412) 837-4109; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, spiceandtea.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 62 reviews, which is a strong result for a specialty food store in Pittsburgh and suggests consistent service.
Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is the BEST spot for tea and spices. I love caffeine free options for nighttime and matΓ© options for morning. The most wonderful part of this place is the owner and her team - they are simply the best. I live in South Jersey and travel to Pittsburgh for work pretty often so I always make sure to stop by when Iβm in town. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I am enjoying a cup of Mango Tango Herbal Tea with some Amber Rock Sugar. It is delicious and soothing! I look forward to trying the Spiced Ruby Cider Herbal Tea that the store associate, Joey, made up for me. I visited the store on Thursday and Joey was knowledgeable and very helpful. Thank you!

I love visiting this shop. They have a nice selection of spices, sugars and teas. Some with very surprising or unexpected flavor combos. This is definitely a nice place to find a gift for a tea lover, someone who enjoys cooking or just a dear friend. The best part about visiting The Spice and Tea Exchange is there Tea Bar. You can order a freshly steeped hot or cold tea. You may select any tea they have in stock and you may sweeten it with any sugar they have in stock. You can create some unique, tasty and refreshing drinks. During my most recent visit I had an iced mango tango tea π₯π« with pineapple as sugarπ. Really delicious.

Great little local tea shop in the Ross Park mall! They have a tea bar where you can purchase fresh brewed loose leaf tea! Today I tried blueberry green tea. I also purchased pomegranate green tea and a smoked bacon sea salt! Such a nice owner/ worker

The Butterscotch Creme and Poundcake sugars have been absolute game changers in my cookies! I've yet to hear any feedback that doesn't glorify the taste, all of which I attribute to my Spice & Tea Exchange sugars. Heather and her staff have been the epitome of customer care specialists, promptly filling my orders and packaging them with care. My son has tried several of the rubs for some of the briskets and roasts that he's made, and my wife is a HUGE fan of several of the herbal teas. Keep up the amazing work!!! In the attached picture you'll see slightly pan fried almond chocolate brioche bread topped with coffee gelato and Cool Whip, and sprinkled with TSTE roasted espresso sugar. Yum yum!
